obsessed with this muppet clip where Gonzo breaks a piece of machinery and then just stares at the camera in an empty room and says ‘GUILT’ in the most harrowing way possible
instead of counting sheep jumping over fences, i will count very sparkly tigers jumping over rainbows <:)
OKAY so I wanted to just mention my stance on this in the form of a very loose “essay”
Five Below is better than Hot Topic (for me personally) and here’s why:
Their prices are pretty great (the most one item can be is 25$ ??? I think) and they always have a lot of neat stuff that I really like, from clothes to figurines to phone accessories to jewelry to games to posters etc! it’s hard to have a shopping spree (to my standards) at Hot Topic due to the pricing and as someone who’s very money-conscious, 5 below makes it easy to get the things i like when I have money to spare!
both stores are teen-oriented, but as a teen, 5 below is the perfect store to go to when i want to treat myself to a lil something
I will share with you briefly my first experience at a 5 below (circa. a few weeks ago)
I went in there with a few of my friends that I get to see once a year, and there are no words to explain the excitement i felt when walking in and seeing how far in and how packed the store was. I was starstruck, and it certainly didn’t help that everything in there was at least 5$. I had budgeted 65$ to spend there, and it was the perfect amount. I got upwards of around 12 things, including a gift for my mom and I STILL had money left. Not sure if I can say the same thing about Hot Topic though because my previous visit there (last year at around the same time) yielded a jacket, a shirt, and a choker with a total cost of 45$.
I don’t mean to dig on Hot Topic with this post because to be honest, Hot Topic walked so 5 Below could run (Hot Topic opened in 1989, 5 Below in 2002)
I just really love 5 Below and I wanted to share what a lovely experience it was and compare it to something with a similar demographic 😄 I feel like 5 Below is more than succeeding with their customer-base because it allows people of my age range to get a lot with not so much. Basically, an allowance would go pretty far here, and that’s beyond awesome.
Thank you for reading and making it all the way to the end! If you have an opinion on stores you really like, I’d love to hear them!
